- Fall 2022 Sessions -

Open to emerging and established artists for the fall 2022 sessions with focus on Visual Arts, Sculpture, Literature, and Poetry.

Residencies programs give artists and writers the opportunity to live and work outside of their usual environments, providing them with time to reflect, research, or produce work.

Where study abroad programs afford young people the time and resources to focus on their work, at [sm]art Residencies we welcome artists of all levels and provide them a space where they can create a deep, meaningful and transitional impact on their life and work.

 - Residencies Sessions -

Hosted by Casale Flaminia since 2018, a private 17th century home and country house on the edge of the top-hill settlement of Acquaiura built around the year of 1000 AD along the ancient Roman Flaminia route leading directly to nearby Spoleto, city of art and culture listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, pre-dating Rome.

We had no idea what was coming around the corner, responding to the pandemic we are still learning to adapt and created our first digital edition of [sm]art Festival in Feb 2021, carefully curated by a distinguished and international composition of artists, academics, and cultural leaders across disciplines with focus on Visual Art, Literature, Poetry, Photography, Public Art, Performance Art, Music, and Dance.

After a long wait, we are pleased to announce that we are rebooting our artists in residence sessions in 2022 - working, dreaming, cooking, and laughing together!

Working, dreaming, cooking, and laughing together!
