OPEN CALL TERMS & CONDITIONS
The [sm]art Open Call program ​is open to emerging and established artists and provides an opportunity to work in quiet and inspiring surroundings in the company of fellow writers and artists.
1. Open Call Scope

1.1 Open call for artists and writers
​
1.2 Accommodation (7 nights full board) at [sm]art venues.
​
1.3 Self catering meals are provisioned for with access to a fully equipped kitchen, stocked with local ingredients.
​
1.5 General expenses such as travels and per diem are not covered.
​
1.6 The [sm]art Open Call program does not provide a stipendium.
​
2. Access to Writing Faculty
2.1 The [sm]art Open Call program provides access to our online [sm]art writers circle, for writers who seek encouragement, guidance, and community on the path to successfully achieving writing goals.
​
2.2 The [sm]art Open Call program provides one-on-one mentoring, benefiting from content-based and style-based critique (i.e. substantive and stylistic evaluation) of your work to include content-driven and line-by-line feedback focusing on the literary craft.

3. Fellowship Application Entry
​
3.1 Application for [sm]art Open Call program is by digital entry form.
​
3.2 Selection procedure is by committee with focus on Visual Arts, Literature and Poetry.
​
3.3 Successful candidates to be announced through social media channels within one week of application closing dates, publicised on [sm]art Open Call website.
​
4. Expectation of the Artist
4.1 With the permission of the artist, the work of the artists within the [sm]art fellowship program will be featured on [sm]art sessions website and [sm]art social media channels such as facebook, twitter and instagram.

5. Privacy Policy
5.1 [sm]art is committed to safeguarding and respecting the privacy of our artists in residence and any information collected during the fellowship application process.
5.2 The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 1998 requires us to deal fairly with any information that we collect from you during the application process or browsing whilst you visit our website.
5.3 Our Privacy Policy, outlined here, will describe what we will do with this information and with whom it might be shared and under what circumstances.
6. Passports, visas and health requirements

6.1 For travellers from outside countries, it is your responsibility, according to the type of passport you have, to check with the consulate whether the application for a tourist visa is required.
​
6.2 Due to visa regulations and health requirements that can change frequently, it is recommended that you check as soon as possible whether the application for tourist visas or health requirements is necessary.
​
6.3 [sm]art is not responsible for travellers without proper health documentation and the correct passport or visa.
​
7. Insurance
​
7.1 The [sm]art Open Call program does NOT include travel, health or accident insurance and it is the responsibility of the [sm]art Open Call recipients to ensure adequate insurance cover.

8. Privacy Policy

8.1 [sm]art is committed to safeguarding and respecting the privacy of then Open Call recipients.

9. Exclusions of liability

9.1 [sm]art and our selected hosts do not accept any liability for: cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial action, natural disaster, technical problems to transport, staff cancellations or other events beyond our control.

9.2 Neither [sm]art nor any of its staff or associates will be liable for any loss or damage to any personal property.

10. Changes to the terms
​
We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice.
